Moving is such a pain!

Well, it's been over a week since my last post and we've progressed, but we still have much to sort out. I *think* we've figured out a way to get our stuff to NY, but details haven't yet been finalized. It turns out that we're too late and have too little stuff to go with a moving company; but, there seemed to be customs and insurance issues with a courier.

We're working on banking stuff now. I thought this would be much easier than it's turning out to be too!

On the brighter side of things, we've gotten rid of most of our stuff! Yay! The apartment is finally looking emptier. Putting up a 'for sale' sign in our building and pricing everything very cheaply helped. Plus, it's way easier to move a piece of furniture downstairs than it is to move it to a donations centre.

The cat, Sam, is freaking out. He doesn't like change, and the apartment changes every hour. Very stressful for a timid guy. It's funny that we've spent the last year getting him to eat less (he's on a diet program); but now have starting encouraging him to eat more since he's only eating about 1/5th the amount he's supposed to have. (He doesn't eat or sleep much when he's stressed.) My parents will look after him for the summer and then he gets a traumatic plane ride to LaGuardia, via Vancouver and Toronto. ("Traumatic" because Sam's world is only as big as our 550 sq. ft. apartment. Anything outside is SCARY!)

Our route is getting finalized. Now I just have to tell people we're coming! (=
